I have a phone message. It is my friend Priscilla in Belgrade. She wondered if I would like to go on a walk with her. So, you say, what is so odd about that?
Several times over the past few years, Priscilla has walked to Manhattan (MT, not NY) AND back. So, that was the walk.
We started out on Sunday morning, August 31, at 7:33 am. Our route to Manhattan would be 14 miles on Dry Creek Road. After a few stops, (can you imagine we even found a bathroom on the way!) we "pulled in" to Manhattan at about 12:30. After a pizza lunch at the only cafe open on Sunday, we headed back on the frontage road. That is only about 9 to 10 miles. We had to walk single file as the road is quite narrow. At 4:43 pm, we "pulled" into Priscilla's yard! Our time: 9 hours 10 minutes which included a one hour lunch break!
Today, I skipped my morning walk.
Wow - now that's a walk! Your legs and feet must be really sore!
